Project Description:

PLATTE.Berlin is an innovative community hub and digital platform at the heart of Berlin’s fashion scene, devoted to empowering the next generation of designers and creatives. The website celebrates this vibrant community, highlighting local fashion labels, upcycling initiatives, art events, workshops, and music gatherings. With distinctive photography, bold typography, and modular design, the site creates an inspiring digital space for users to explore fashion, creativity, and sustainability - all in one place.​

Challenge:

The challenge was to build a highly functional and visually striking platform that reflects PLATTE.Berlin’s diverse offerings and dynamic ethos. With a broad range of content—from events and workshops to retail experiences and a photo studio - the site needed to be easy for staff to manage and exciting for visitors to navigate. Adapting the authentic, raw character of Berlin’s creative scene into the virtual space, while ensuring the site supports both local designers and the broader community, was a key demand.​

Solution:

The solution materialized in a modular, maintainable website built on Wordpress, featuring a reimagined structure and refined UX to showcase Berlin’s fashion talents and community spirit. Migration to WordPress enabled easier content updates, while distinctive photography and bold typography capture the grit and creativity of the scene. Event calendars, studio bookings, and digital showcases were integrated fluidly, giving attention to sustainability, inclusivity, and hands-on engagement with upcycling and collaborative projects.​

Results:

Since launch, the new PLATTE.Berlin website has boosted engagement across designers, consumers, and collaborators - driving traffic to events, retail, and workshops. Users report easier navigation, increased excitement around Berlin's creative happenings, and authentic digital storytelling that reflects the city's energy. Designers benefit from more visibility, and the community now enjoys a connected, inspiring digital hub shaping the future of sustainable and inclusive fashion in Berlin.
